Château Ducru Beaucaillou
The history of the Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, like that of many great Crus, dates back to the late 17th century to the early 18th century. At the time of the Revolution, M. Bergeron was the owner. M. Nathaniel Johnston, belonging to a famous family of Bordeaux wine negotiants, bought the domain from the Ducru-Ravez in 1866.
The Johnstons improved and expanded it. Always on the lookOUT for new technologies, they were surrounded by highly competitive administrators and renowned architects. The two Victorian pavilions that proudly cross the main house were built at that time.

In 1929 the domain was for 12 years owned by M. Desbarats-de-Burke, who ceded it to M. Francis Boire. His son Jean-Eugène and his family are currently the owners.
The vineyards known as "des beaux caillous", extend over 50 hectares of beautiful rounded peaks parallel to the Gironde. A magnificent park with trees that continue to the river. Wine is the goal of constant and meticulous care, nothing is enough to obtain the highest quality.
Ducru-Beaucaillou is considered by specialists as the quintessence of Bordeaux wine and the Médoc in particular.
