“The successful 2003 Hosanna has turned out to be a sexy, opulent, medium to full-bodied wine offering loads of berry fruit, licorice and truffle characteristics. There is no trace of dry tannins or underripeness in this beauty. It once again proves that Christian Moueix is a genius in culling out the finest fruit from this estate, which was once known as Certan Giraud.” - Robert Parker
In 1999, Établissements Jean-Pierre Moueix purchased Château Certan-Giraud in Pomerol. They divided the property into two plots, creating Château Hosanna in the elevated part and selling the lower section. Positioned at the center of the Pomerol plateau, Château Hosanna boasts a distinctive feature with over 40-year-old Cabernet Franc vines comprising 30% of the vineyard, alongside the typical Merlot of Pomerol. The vineyard's reddish gravel soil with clay areas contributes to its unique character. Combining elegance and depth, Château Hosanna aspires to produce a wine akin to La Conseillante or Cheval Blanc, with a delicate touch reminiscent of a female version of Pétrus.
