LOUIS ROEDERER Brut Vintage 2012
This vintage champagne, aims to capture the ultimate expression of the Pinot noir from our “La Montagne” estate, concentrated on the original vines purchased by the Champagne House. The Vintage is therefore a testament to an exceptional year, a snapshot of a terroir that has undergone a slow maturation process.
Golden yellow with slightly amber reflections. Luminous and serene effervescence that originates on the entire surface of the cup.
Subtle bouquet that shows, at first nose, a certain discretion: we can find spring notes of fresh citrus (more lemon than lemon), in addition to warmer and almost smoky mineral notes. It is followed by ageing notes in oak barrels reminiscent of lightly toasted almonds. Wide, energetic attack, which almost "dusts" and caresses the palate. It provides a feeling of fulness in the mouth, of silky matter, loaded with softness and balance at the same time. The end is long and persistent.

Fascinated by the diversity of aromatic expression of the Pinot Noir strains in Champagne, Louis Roederer decides to make his Vintage Brut based on the structure and potency of the Pinots Noirs of the Mountain of Reims, where the vines, exposed to the northeast, ripen more slowly and sometimes give rough and closed wines, at the beginning of ageing, but whose personality is refined and In 1850, Louis Roederer decided to buy more than 15 hectares at the Grand Cru de Verzenay, in order to better control the production of the grapes of this cuvée.
The Vintage Brut is the perfect expression of the characteristics of the year of its harvest. It is only produced in good vintages in which the Maison Louis Roederer can obtain a spectacular quality of the grapes of its vineyard. The Brut Vintage, unrepeatable Cuvée of wines of a specific year, matures between four and five years on its own sediment and an additional six months after the "degorgement".
It is difficult to imagine a more authentic revelation of the virtues that are combined in a terroir, the magic of a year and the "savoir faire" of Louis Roederer.
70% Pinot Noir - 30% Chardonnay - 8% wine-wineed wines in wood (oak barrels) with a weekly bazooka - 16% malolactic fermentation. The Vintage Brut cuvée has an average of 4 years of maturation in cavas and a rest of 6 months after the disgorgement, in order to perfect its maturity. The dosage is adapted to each vintage between 8 and 10 g/l.
Style: Powerful, subtle and rich.
