Vieux Château Certan

from €172.10

Available in 75cl. and 150cl.

"The 2013 Vieux ChÃóteau Certan has plentiful fruit on the nose considering the vintage: raspberry coulis, crushed strawberry and a touch of blackcurrant pastilles. The palate is medium-bodied and while it might not rank with the greatest VCC's of recent years in terms of complexity, there is admirable depth and purity with a crisp, almost edgy finish that leaves you wanting another sip. This comes recommended for the vintage and I suspect it will give 12-15 years of drinking pleasure." - Robert Parker

Vieux Château Certan, one of the oldest estates in Pomerol, has a history dating back to the mid-1700s. Founded by Jean Demay de Certan, the property originally operated under the name of Sertan. The Demay de family, well-known wine merchants, played a significant role in the Bordeaux wine trade. Over time, the estate's vineyards were divided, giving rise to other châteaux with the Certan name. Today, Vieux Château Certan is celebrated as one of the finest wines in Pomerol.
